1991 Jeep MJ pioneer Shortbed(super rare in short bed and the running gear)
1992 is the last year made the Comanche and a jeep pickup. 1991 is the first year with all the desired drivetrain(np215/ax15/mpfi h/o 4.0L motor) and that didn’t change either the 1992 year.
242ci H/O 4.0L runs strong with the desired MPFI.
New Bosch high torque stater(the old one gave out last year)
AX15 fivespeed clutch is still good and rows thru the gears good.
Np231 2speed transfercase(Slip yoke eliminator)
Double cardan u-joint rear driveshaft
D30 front(needs a little tlc)
D44 rear w/locker(great shape)
5.5″ rubicon express lift
Quick disconnect front sway bar
35″x12.5R15 ProComp xterrain tires(great tire everywhere and a very tough tire) on steel 15″x10″ wheels
Electric fan on/off manually(great for low speed trail runs) along with the mechanical fan.
Frames straight as an arrow and no rust on that frame.
The weak points(not so bad really):
Passanger taillight mount for the tailgate has some cancer and the driverside floor board needs some patch work or just a new floorboard(passanger is great thou). The only cancer or such on this little truck when i bought it years ago. Was going to put a willies style box in the back so i would get rid of that cancer near the taillight and the floorboard isnt to bad and never got around to fixing it yet anyways. Odometer was broken before i got her and never bothered fixing it being it mainly a trailered offroad toy anyways.
All the drive train runs good she’s just showing her age a little. I’m in no rush to sell her since I’m looking for something bigger for yhe growing family and all. Only cash sorry already got something in mind.
She’s considered a classic now and worth every dime put into her.
